Roy Van Loo, Jr. is a wildlife nature photographer who makes his home in Battle Creek, Michigan. His artistic photographs of nature reflect his life long love for the outdoors.

Roy was born and raised in Battle Creek. He discovered at an early age the wonderful fascinating joys of nature. Photography is his way of recording this beauty for others to enjoy. Subjects include: animals’ birds, insects, scenery and flowers. His artistic eye allows him to see and capture subjects as no one else sees them. After more than 30 years of creating images, his image library has grown to thousands. Due to working full-time in the newspaper business, his time in the field is limited. Most of his images were taken in Michigan. His credits include the PSA International Charles Kingsley award, publication in Silver Creek, Sierra, and Audubon Calendars, plus several magazine publications.

Roy captures his images using conventional film and Nikon equipment. He prints using the highest quality materials currently available to insure he retains the detail and rich color of the original image.

Along with his photography, Roy is an award-winning artist in painting and woodcarving.
