Art Shows:
Jim has done wildlife art shows since 1990
He has consistently placed in the top ten of the trout and duck stamp contests-- State of Michigan in the past years. Jim sells original paintings and high quality prints at all price ranges.
Mediums:
Jim’s favorite medium is acrylic paint. He also loves to paint in oil, watercolor and airbrush. He is one of very few artists that switch between different mediums. Jim also draws a lot in pencil and pen.
Reference:
Jim does his paintings from life and studies his subject up close. Every summer he travels and carries a sketchbook, camera and tiny watercolor set. This summer in July, Jim traveled to Alaska.
Artist Statement:
I think that the birds and animals are the “jewels” of the earth. It would be a sad place without them. I think it is important that we use our talents also, so many people ignore their God given talents and that is a shame.
